The Moses Calhoun Mountain Westerns
Brewer’s Posse and a trip to Vegas
What happens when a deputy sheriff is leading a posse he does not trust?
When a body turns up in the Buffalo Gap livery and the sheriff lies beaten and unconscious, Deputy Emmett Brewer is forced to lead a posse in pursuit of the killer.
But Deputy Brewer suspects some of the men riding with him are there for their own purposes. It’s a chase across central Texas in the early 1880s, and if Emmett Brewer is going to see justice done, he may have to do it in spite of the men riding with him.

Some of you may have read the 4-book Cullen Tindall series I released back in April and May. I’d had high hopes for these books and thought I was probably launching a series that would turn into several books. But it sometimes happens that a book or a series does not do particularly well, and this series has turned out to be a real dud for me.
The reviews are mostly positive, and I think most people who read any or all of the Cullen Tindall series enjoyed it. But for whatever reason, the series did not match my other books in terms of interest or sales. So I shelved my plans to continue writing in the Cullen Tindall series even before the fourth book came out.
However, I had what was intended to be the fifth book of the series already well under way, and that was a lot of writing time dedicated. So I finished writing that fifth book and am releasing it as a stand-alone novel. That way, even if readers didn’t read any of the first four Cullen Tindall books, they can still pick this one up and read it without already knowing the characters.
For those who did read and enjoy the Cullen Tindall series, I think this will be a fun book that continues the storyline of the original 4-book series. If you’ve followed my work closely, you know I love a good posse story, and I really enjoyed writing this book.
A lot of the action in this one takes place in Fort Worth in the early 1880s. That was a time when the city was exploding in growth, and it was fun for me to explore the history of Fort Worth from this time period. If you decide to give it a read, I hope you enjoy it!
